Ray Tademy
Raymond Tademy is a 25-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps who returned to school to get his long-awaited college degree. Three years after his “retirement” as a Master Gunnery Sergeant, USMC, he received his Batchelor’s of Science degree in psychology from VCU in 2003. He is currently a doctoral candidate in social psychology at VCU and plans to receive his PhD by May 2008. His research interests include investigations into an evolutionary approach to the psychology of religion and the influence of cultural factors upon attitudinal and behavioral outcomes. He is currently a research assistant for the VCU contingent of the Cultural Pathways to Prevention Project (CP3), funded by the Virginia Tobacco Settlement Foundation. He is also Executive Director of A Gathering off the Ways, Inc., (see www.agatheringoftheways.org) and an active member of Spring Creek Baptist Church in Richmond, Va.
