VCU Social Psychology Program

NguyenAnh Bao Nguyen

I earned my undergraduate degree from Virginia Polytechnic and State University and a master's in psychology from the University of Richmond. In 2006, I entered VCU’s Social Psychology program. My research focuses on examining health disparities and increasing preventive health behaviors among minorities and underserved populations. I am also interested in the role of cultural variables on health outcomes.  Currently, I am working on developing and implementing an intervention that will increase breast and cervical cancer-related knowledge, efficacy, intent, and behavior in the Vietnamese population while using culturally-sensitive strategies and community-based participatory research approaches.
